Unlike those cheap re-usable shopping bags you can buy in your local supermarket, Character Bags allow you to craft your own animal shapes. Squirrels, rabbits, butterflies—you name it. It’s kind of like origami or balloon animals for treehuggers. An additional image is available after the break.

Os cientistas sempre ficaram curiosos com as impressionantes cores vistas na natureza, principalmente os padrões iridescentes e ultrabrilhantes encontrados nas penas dos pássaros, nas asas das borboletas e nas carapaças de vários insetos.

Finnish phone manufacturer Nokia is really late to the touchscreen phone market, with their 5800 not really setting the stage ablaze since its release, although it is by no means a major flop, doing quite well in certain markets around the world but never really showing off any capability of going anywhere near the iPhone’s dominance. Well, if at first you don’t succeed, try again – and that’s exactly what the folks at Nokia have done with the new Nokia 5230 – this handset was specially built for those who lead an active life and use their handsets as the main device for music, photos and videos, alongside all their online shenanigans.

Everyone except Microsoft themselves are talking about the death of IE6. I’ve tried motivating people to drop support, arguing that you at least can show IE6 users a message. Many have replied with “but our IT department doesn’t let us…”, and I can say nothing more than that the IT department is filled with humans. Which means they are lazy, and upgrade when people whine enough about it. It’s a shame it has to be that way, that we have to punish people for their IT departments, but that’s how it has to be.

The leading photo sharing site, flickr.com, charts the popularity of the cameras used by its membership. Recently the Apple iPhone has jumped into a virtual tie for first place with the Canon XTi. Furthermore, flickr states on its “Camera Finder” page that it can only detect the camera used about 2/3rds of the time, and that, therefore, cameraphones are under-represented on the graphs. Yikes.

Sometimes when people first learn about Web accessibility they look for quick ways of improving the sites they build. This often leads to misuse or overuse of certain HTML features that are meant to aid accessibility, but when used wrongly have no effect and can actually have the opposite effect by making the page less accessible and less usable.
