Today at Adobe MAX I’ll be giving a presentation with Michael Williams on the next version of SWFObject (previously the SWFFix project). As most of you probably know, I’ve been working on a project with Bobby van der Sluis and Michael Williams (From Adobe) that was going to become the de-facto standard for embedding Flash/Flex content. Well we decided that we didn’t like the new name all that much, so we are adopting the SWFObject name for the project.

Adobe followed through on a promise to release Flash Lite for mobiles with FLV support, which is Flash video support for you people not peering into the guts of YouTube.com. Phones with S60, WM5/6 and a few others should be able to run the plug in, but since Flash video is notoriously greedy when it comes to memory and processing, I wonder how many phones will be able to play back anything but the most postage-stamp-sized of videos. YouTube on a mobile browser? I don’t think we’re there yet.

In this article, I will look into the complexities and subtleties of embedding Flash content and examine the most popular embedding methods to see how good they really are.

I’ve been hearing a lot of Flash vs. Ajax arguments lately, and unfortunately, they almost always start off in the wrong way.

What it does?
If you have a flash debug player version you will see in the firefox sidebar all the swf trace output while running any of the swf in a browser window.
