Camera finder

Wow, this is a great feature of Flickr I recall asking for awhile back – find a camera. You can see which cameras are used the most by Flickr members, as well as what camera phones are also used the most, great way to see the photos you can expect from a camera with real world use…

iLoupe Microscopic Digital Camera

Aven performed a little convergence by simply plopping microscope lenses on a point-and-shoot digital camera. This digital camera has the ability to take pictures at magnification up to 150x. Aven suggests that the iLoupe was designed for professional fields such as forensics, but it could really be used by anyone that has a passion for taking pictures of extreme small things (insert penis joke here).

Astronomy web cam adapters

Gaston Groisman @ Kool Tools has a good review (and photo example) from a web cam adaptor for webcam astrophotography – “You no longer need expensive CCDs to take astrophotographs. You can use a webcam! Lots of cool things are happening, but it all started at the QuickCam and Unconventional Imaging Astronomy Group (QCUIAG)…The classic solution is to cool the CCD. This has been done by many, but it is difficult to do. The second method is to stack a whole bunch of individual exposures. This gives a resulting image much better than any single one. Software like RegiStax (freeware) does this, and very well. You don’t even need to modify your webcam’s hardware to do this. Just make or buy an adaptor to fit it to the scope.”

Weird Cameras, Some Shaped Like Food

Who knew that cameras existed without a black, metallic or black surface? Do the laws of physics even allow man to photograph with devices that lack a chipped, silver finish?

Earth SHUTTERING campaign

Seeing that the posts on 2D/3D hybrid ad campaigns (that’s the name we have christened them here at the Cool Hunter) have been so popular in recent weeks, we thought we would include this candid shot sent in from a keen subscriber.
