Firebug 1.0 - Web developer tool of the year?
I have previously mentioned Joe Hewitt’s Firebug extension for Firefox. It used to be a really useful development tool, well worth installing alongside your other extensions that make Web development easier. But what Firebug used to be is nothing compared to what it is now.

Run Firefox 2.0 and 1.5 side by side
If you want to run Firefox 2.0 and Firefox 1.5 side by side you can with a Portable Firefox for both Mac and windows. These applications allow you to keep separate profiles so you effective keep the older version of firefox as a standalone with a copy of your current profile.

Internet Explorer 7 has been on full release for about a week now and Mozilla have managed to jump on the proverbial bandwagon and release Firefox 2.0.

Mesmo amanhã (24 de outubro de 2006) sendo o lançamento oficial do Firefox 2.0 eu já estou com ele aqui rodando e funcionando, perfeitamente. Agora é definitivo. Se quiser você poderá baixá-lo agora mesmo em inglês ou a versão em português dos servidores da Mozilla.

O Internet Explorer 7 e como manter a versão 6 instalada no Windows XP
O novo Internet Explorer 7 foi lançado definitivamente neste 18 de outubro passado e já está disponível para download. Os bugs de CSS clássicos parecem ter sido corrigidos todos baseados na documentação do site Quirks Mode e Position is everything. A maioria das novidades já havia sido exibida nas versões betas e já foram documentadas e discutidas pelos blogs. Agora só nos resta testar e testar mais. Só para lembrar, até o presente momento o Internet Explorer esta sendo instalado apenas em máquinas que possuem o Windows XP original. Mas acredito que logo logo medidas que contornam isso já estarão rodando por aí.

Cross-browser semi-transparent backgrounds
Semi-transparent backgrounds are nice. They would be more popular, but Internet Explorer doesn’t support .png transparency. There are a few clunky workarounds. Here’s another that’s a little less clunky.
