The “nightly” release of Milestone 8 now contains an Aptana-integrated version of Joe Hewitt’s very cool Firebug extension for Firefox. Firebug enhances the experience of using the Aptana debugger by providing real-time DOM inspection and code editing, in addition to many other features.

Now say the title of this post ten times in a row, five times as fast… yea, anyway. This is meant to be a short and sweet tip about how you declare your functions in JavaScript; mainly because there is a little white lie floating out there that says that the two declarations are synonymous. But one is just shorthand for the other. Here they are represented in code:

Um dos meus blogs favoritos atualmente é o Creating passionate users e ontem li mais um texto muito interessante por lá: “Don’t ask employees to be passionate about the company!”

I am going to use you as my guinea pigs here. For an upcoming workshop in Singapore I am creating presentations and also screencasts to take away. Therefore I just recorded one of the sessions on the essentials of DOM scripting and put this “dry run” screencast on my server for you to check out.

While there’s a couple of options to help those looking to add an extra dash of authenticity to Wii Golf or Tennis, not to mention that all-purpose foam donut for driving games, those needing some help reconciling the incongruous Wiimote and nunchuck with the act of boxing so far haven’t been so fortunate. Thankfully, someone’s decided to fill in that questionable gap, releasing the “easy to use” Wii Boxing Glove, which promises to “enhance the joy of playing” for the low, low price of $22. As the image above helpfully illustrates, you simply pop your standard issue controllers into the gloves and start swinging, with the padding providing some sure-to-be-needed protection against your added enthusiasm. Now, if someone would just figure out how to make the Wiimote a little more like a baseball bat, we’d be all set.
