If you’re like me, too often you find yourself hunched improperly over your keyboard, your back curving into an ungainly arch, threatening to condemn you to a life of Quasimodo-like spinal curvature if you don’t shape up and start correcting your posture. Unfortunately, when I’m in the throes of a good blogging session, I’m usually far too entranced by the flow of words across my screen to pay any attention to this sort of mundane thing. That’s why I need a handy device like this USB Posture Reminder from our USB-obsessed friends at Brando.

This assembly of illustrations comes from the first half of the 112 rare Japanese medical texts online at Kuyshu University (’List of Titles’). The names above derive from the image URLs and are presumably the titles in english - I don’t have an Asian language pack on this machine so I couldn’t try to translate any of the notes.

We’ve been making spaghetti the retarded way for years, but we should have known the Japanese thought up a better, and faster, way of doing everything.

When you feed the names and connections in the King James Version of the New Testament into the ManyEyes social visualization tool, you get this incredible hairball map of the social relationships between the characters in that novel.

When I mentioned “Overuse of JavaScript frameworks/libraries” as one of the Six things that suck about the Web in 2006, I quickly learned that some people don’t quite agree. That’s fine, everybody has the right to their opinion. But I want to explain my thoughts and feelings about JavaScript libraries a bit more. If JavaScript libraries are religion to you, please read this article in full before you bring out your flamethrower.
