My wife and I have fallen in love with crafter Sara Lanzillotta’s Devout Dolls collection of stuffed oddities and fabric freaks. I bought my wife two Devout pieces as gifts–a Forest Friend deer doll and matching pin (image left)–and they’re as beautifully constructed as they appear. I sense our Devout collection has just begun.

I showed you the LED color changing faucet earlier this week, and at that time I was pretty certain it would be the coolest looking faucet I would find this week. Well, I stand corrected.

“The non-symetrical nature of some of the die patterns gives the dice cube an extra element of strategy not present in regular Rubik’s Cubes. This variable of rotation is an aspect of the “sudocube,” but the dice cube is easier to solve, because each face contains identical figures, and every cubie is unique–two properties of the original Rubik’s Cube that are not carried over to the “sudocube.”"

Has your expensive smoking habit prevented you from picking up a real DSLR flash? Well continue to tar up those lungs because that problem has been solved. Conveniently, an empty pack of cigarettes provides the perfect flash diffuser for the integrated flash lens of Canon DSLRs. Diffusing a flash prevents really washed-out images and make the lighting appear more natural. Hit the jump to see a before and after.

The Simple Dollar blog has a very interesting post listing 25 gadgets that should pay for themselves over the long run, and even generate some returns depending on the situation. Some of the gadgets are pretty well known, like battery chargers or high efficiency washing machines. Some of them, however, are pretty innovative, to say the least. Have you ever considered that you should buy the video game Dance Dance Revolution to save money? What about efficient shower heads or “smart” power strips?

We all know that cellphones these days come with a pretty decent digital camera embedded inside, but these cameras are good for only shots under bright light conditions, faltering badly when it comes to scenes with very little light. Of course, this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the limitations of a cellphone camera. The other major weakness would be the inability to capture shots that are far off in the distance, as the lens is just not capable of zooming in that much. This could potentially be a problem as some tourists rely on just a camera equipped cellphone to capture their memories in a digital format. Brando of Hong Kong has a solution in the form of the Zoom Telescope.
